BIKE MAP OF PHOENIX (Phoenix, AZ) Phoenix Mapping Service, in cooperation with the Coalition of Arizona Bicyclists and bicycle shops around the valley has just released a newly updated edition of the Bike Map of Phoenix. Want to get out and ride your bike, but you don't know where to go? You've heard there are a lot of bike routes around Phoenix, but where are they? Is it really possible to get around Phoenix on a bicycle? The answers to these questions are provided by a new map of Phoenix that shows the bike routes, streets with bike lanes, location of the multi-use paths and a wealth of helpful cycling information. Unlike other bike map efforts that only show bike routes and major streets, the BIKE MAP OF PHOENIX shows ALL the streets. Residential streets appear on the map, along with parks, recreation areas, libraries, major shopping centers and other points of interest. The officially designated bicycle route network is shown. Color-coded lines on the street map clearly identify Bike Routes, Bike Lanes, Multi-use Paths and Unpaved Paths, including trails in the mountain preserves. Popular routes not marked by signs or lanes, which can provide fun and interesting places to ride, are yet another helpful classification. An especially helpful item on the map is the hi-lighting of bicycle-friendly crossings, such as tunnels or overpasses. The map is only $3.95 at bike shops, map stores and selected bookstores throughout the Metro Phoenix area. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each map will be given to the Coalition of Arizona Bicyclists to support their efforts. ###
