Blowout Book Sale Planned for Wide World of Maps Mesa Store PHOENIX - It's the biggest sale of the year at the biggest map store in the East Valley. Wide World of Maps' Mesa location is kicking off the holiday season with a Blowout Book Sale, November 10-12. Hundreds of books including Southwest fiction and nonfiction titles, local interest books, travel guides, nature field guides, cookbooks, outdoor recreation, maps and atlases will be available at 30% to 70% off the cover price. Wide World of Maps has set aside 4,000 square feet of space to celebrate their first six months at their new Mesa location. Wide World of Maps is located at 1444 West Southern Avenue in Mesa. It's in Fiesta Plaza, northeast of Mesa Community College and across the street from Fiesta Mall, on the northeast corner of Longmore and Southern. While you're there picking up some of the best book deals of the season, you'll have a chance to see Wide World's NASCAR stock car, which will be in front of the store throughout the sale. Sale hours are Friday, 8 am to 8 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm. There will be give-aways and drawings throughout the sale. Founded in 1975 by Robert Molner and James Willinger, Wide World of Maps is the most complete map store in the Southwest, carrying every U.S.G.S. topographic map for Arizona, along with more than one million other maps, books and related items. The firm's Phoenix Mapping Service division publishes street maps for Arizona and produces custom maps for government and business. Their retail stores are located in Phoenix and Mesa.
