GPS Classes A Must for Successful Geocaching It's the ultimate Treasure Hunt, with the emphasis on the "hunt." It's called Geocaching, the newest craze for Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes wannabes. Geocachers use clues and GPS (global positioning system) devices to locate the treasure (cache). The cache may not be much, but the hunt makes it all worthwhile. Wide World of Maps, the Valley's leading supplier of maps and other land navigation products, is the place for would-be geo-adventurers to get started. Successful geocaching begins with knowing how to use a GPS, and Wide World of Maps offers ongoing GPS classes at both their Phoenix and Mesa retail locations. Class attendees learn the elements of GPS for navigation in any situation. Introductory classes are designed to teach novice GPS users (and nonusers) coordinate systems and a basic understanding of how GPS devices work. Advanced classes are for GPS users looking to develop both the technical skills and understanding to be self-reliant users of the system.
