Updated Metro Phoenix Street
Maps for your Computer

PHOENIX - For the first time, the most used street atlas for Metropolitan Phoenix is available on your computer. The familiar (bright yellow covered) street atlas, produced every year since 1975 and used by thousands of people in the Phoenix area, is now the newest software from Phoenix Mapping Service, the publishing division of Wide World of Maps, Inc. This just-released, completely updated software product is called MacroMAP®.

The MacroMAP® 2002 Metropolitan Phoenix product brings all of the high quality maps found in the popular street atlas product to a single CD-ROM. President James Willinger explains, "Our customers strongly requested that we make this product. Current users of the street atlas were not satisfied with maps of Phoenix found on the Internet or on other CD-ROM map products. They wanted the same accuracy and comprehensive coverage found in our printed street atlases. They wanted a product that uses the same page and grid system they have been using for years. They wanted it to be easy to use and affordable, and they wanted it now!"

Listening to the demands of its many real estate, delivery, construction and service company customers, Phoenix Mapping Service has produced superior results. With more than 3,000 square miles of full-detail maps, MacroMAP® 2002 Metropolitan Phoenix CD-ROM has even more full-detail street map coverage than is found in the printed atlas. The maps are seamless too, so being at the edge of a page is never a problem. According to Willinger, the first thing people appreciate is the high quality image that matches the printed maps. The ability to "zoom in" eliminates any problem of the type being too small to read. In addition to full-detail maps of the metro area, users also will find there are four other levels of mapping that are activated as they "zoom out" of the full-detail maps. This feature is particularly helpful when planning routes or needing a more general view of the area.

An easy-to-use Windows® interface allows the user to type in an address and go directly to the part of the map in which the address is located. The complete and updated street index database of more than 20,000 streets is coordinated with addressing systems and map images to make finding addresses on a map simple. In addition, users can search by grid coordinate and township, range and section, and GPS users will appreciate the display of latitude-longitude coordinates. A handy toolbox feature allows users to measure distance and perimeters of shapes. Symbols, location markers and text can be added to the maps. Map images can even be saved and/or exported for use with compatible Windows® applications.

"Priced at just $49.95, this software is an affordable productivity improvement tool that is receiving cheers and thanks from many of our most demanding customers," says Willinger.

MacroMAP® can be purchased at Wide World of Maps' stores in Phoenix and Mesa. Or, by visiting their website at WWW.MAPS4U.COM

Recommended System requirements for this software are: Microsoft® Windows® NT 4, 95/98, Pentium 350 MHz or higher, 64 MB Ram, Windows®-compatible printer, 12x CD-ROM.
