Wide World of Maps offers new business services It's called GIS (Geographic Information Services), and it's an expansion of the custom mapping work our Phoenix Mapping Service division has been providing our customers for years. This new expansion of our capabilities is the result of listening to our customers. In addition to finished map publications, map enlargements and overlays, customers have been asking for more digital and geographic data work. So, over the last few years we have been selecting a few projects, learning and expanding our capabilities in this area. The GIS work we are now experienced with include digital data and digital image preparation, database manipulation for spatial relationships, GPS data coordination, and specialized analysis, formatting and output of geographic data. While we don't profess to be experts at everything GIS, we have had considerable success working with customers who have Geographic Information Service needs related to zip codes, carrier routes, geo-coding, census data, and a variety of user-defined or developed geographic analysis criteria. We have specific strengths using (ESRI) ArcView, and AutoCad, along with database and image processing software applications. Below are some explanations of what we can do for you now. Examples of what we have done: Geocoding (address lists converted to geographic coordinates) Raster and Vector data manipulation Geographic spatial conversion and digitizing GIS database design Large GIS wall map presentation displays Demographic buffer zone development Spatial city/county street maps Customized maps with any number of points and area colored shading to help visualize and communicate complex geographic relationships like; the number of customers located in various sales territories categorized by their shopping trends. Projects like these can be processed and completed in far less time than you might expect. Chances are you already have data that can be used to create these special maps efficiently. All we need is your list of street addresses or other geographically organized data file (GPS coordinates work very well) Within Arizona we maintain a variety of boundary layers (county, municipal, zip codes, census tract, school district, election, MLS and others). We can work with your boundary layers as well and have access to geographic data for other areas in the country when needed. Output and Finishing Services - Once a map is produced we have the right equipment and experience to output it in a variety of ways including digital formats and hard copy prints from notebook size to large format wall-sized images. We also provide a full spectrum of laminating, mounting, custom framing and other finishing and fabrication services. We can work with your map files too. Our output and finishing services are also available for selected GIS, CAD and Graphic applications from your files.
