World of Maps Selected for next PHOENIX Visitors to the state of Arizona, as well as residents who want to know more about the state: Take notice. The most complete map ever is on its way. Wide World of Maps of Phoenix is developing the 2004 Official State Visitors Map for the Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT). AOT distributes 425,000 maps annually to visitors and residents who want to know more about the state. The new, updated state road map promises to be one of the best state maps ever! The 2004 Official State Visitors Map is being produced by Wide World of Maps for Moses Anshell, the contracted advertising agency of AOT, with the cooperation of State Land Department, the State Cartographers Office, ADOT, BLM, State Parks Dept., US Forest Service, Native American Communities throughout the state, and many other public offices and individuals involved in the process of gathering and verifying information for the project. As the largest map-producer in Arizona, Wide World of Maps has the experience and resources to make the best map of the state according to Wide World of Maps President James Willinger. Weve been making maps in Arizona for more than 25 years. We produce a variety of customized maps for businesses, as well as state and local government agencies. The latest digital map production tools and the blend of talented staff cartographers and artist will all be utilized for this project. The finished product will be our best effort and will include features that have never been seen before on an Arizona fold-out map. The 22" x 33" state map will include: highways and major roadways, scenic roads, U.S. and Arizona Parks, Native American Lands, recreation areas, wilderness areas, wildlife refuges, forest lands, selected campsites, roadside rest areas, airports, ports of entry, ski areas, points of interest, significant waterways, topographic information, military installations and 24-hour hospital emergency facilities and more. Also included will be detailed maps of Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff and Yuma. The 2004 Official State Visitors Map, sponsored by Best Western Hotels, is to be published in January 2004 and will be available by contacting AOT for a free travel packet or visit arizonaguide.com.
