This one-sided, full color travel map of the African nation of Malawi features hypsographical topographic contours (elevations are indicated by contour lines and color changes), mountain peaks (with elevation in meters), rivers and waterfalls, streams and creeks, wetlands and swamps, and lakes and lagoons. Several classes of roads and trails are distinguished, and point to point distances along primary roads are indicated in kilometers. It also shows railroads, ferry routes, airports and aerodromes, ports, and bus stations. Administrative departments within the nation are marked, as are national parks and reserves. Other features marked include points of interest, vista points, information centres, ruins, lodging, campsites or huts, rest houses and hostels, museums, telephones, beaches, gas stations, post offices, medical facilities, mines, churches and mosques, missions, schools, and lighthouses.
Insets show the major streets and important buildings of Blantyre (the largest urban area) and Lilongwe (the capital). A generous amount of text fills you in on the history, people, geography, and climate of the nation, the two inset cities, Lake Malawi, Liwonde National Park, and Mount Mulanje. A place names index and full color photographs complete this resource. Some features of surrounding nations are shown, but not in as much detail as shown for Malawi.
